As part of a comprehensive Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) Programme here at PTC our Year 9, 10, and 11 will be heavily involved in a range of activities throughout the year to inform them of the choices at 16+ (including occupational sector research and experiences and Further Education and Training options).
March 2018 Events
Tuesday 6th March - Visit to University of Cambridge, Girton College. Selected Year 10 students will join other Invictus School students on this vist which will give a good insight into the entry requirements and life when studying with an 'Oxbridge' university.
Saturday 17th March - Creative Taster Day -Dudley College. - Dudley College of Technology has added an extra date on the 17th March for students to try a taster in the Creative field, at the Evolve campus from 9:45am – 1:00pm.
This is the same date as our Open Day so your students can explore lots of different areas, whilst also having the option of signing up for a taster.
There will be creative taster sessions in the following:
BTEC level 3:
• Computer Games Design
• Fashion & Clothing
Students are interested in the taster sessions, can register at: EVENTBRITE.CO.UK and search ‘Dudley College’ and the date and time Saturday 17th March - 9:45AM.
The students will meet at the Evolve Campus reception on the day.

February 2018 Events
Monday 12th , Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th February - Year 11 Windsor Interviews - admission staff from Windsor sixth form will be interviewing PTC Year 11 applicants over 3 days at PTC.
Wednesday 14th February - Year 9 (27) Aspire To Be Day, Stourbridge College - a group of year 9 students get to find out all about a range of occupations and related courses from fashion illustrators to biomedical scientists and many more in hands-on activities at BMET's Stourbridge College campus.
Thursday 15th February - Year 8 - Introduction to Kudos - all Year 8's wil be making choices about the subjects they study at GCSE from next September. In their tutor group time they have begun exploring where their subject choices may lead to and on 15th February they will be using the online Kudos system to explore their options further.
Thursday 15th February - Year 9 - EBP Aspire to HE Event - all Year 9 will be engaged in a wide range of activities delivered by the Dudley Education Business Partnership team and regional and national employers. The morning will introduce the year group to the concept of Higher Education and workshops include interviewing guest employers to discover how their career paths have lead them to their successful careers. Guests include TATA steel and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
ACTIVITY IN HALF TERM FEBRAURY 2018 - STUDENTS WITH ACCOMPANYING PARENT/GUARDIAN!
Parents/Guardians - Help support your child's aspirations for a career in the automotive industry by encouraging them to take part in a Family Engineering Day (part of the Royal Academy of Engineers Ingenious project). Aimed at Year7, 8 and 9 students and an accompanying parent/guardian, gives the opportunity to see how studying STEM subjects could potentially enhance their career prospects.
Held in 5 locations around the West Midlands, graduate engineers and apprentices from major automotive companies such as Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover will hold these special days for up to 60 Year 7,8 and 9 students and a parent/guardian. They will take part in an automotive based challenge designed to be fun and educational. Each "day" will last approximately 2.5 hours and run morning or afternoon. 5 lucky students at each day will be awarded a place on the Automotive Engineering 3 day residential course at Coventry University (worth £210).
