TSET Olympics - A Sporting Success
Another successful inter-school sporting event at Himley Hall
For the last four years, PTC has co-ordinated the Trust’s schools and colleges in organising a very successful sporting event, the “TSET Olympics”. The event has grown in size every year in the run up to London 2012 and its legacy continues.
It has become a fantastic annual celebration of sports and this year over 600 pupils attended the event at Himley Hall on Wednesday 12 June 2013. School teams thoroughly enjoyed the day trying out new sports in friendly, competitive sessions with skilled coaches. Sports included volleyball, tag rugby, mountain biking, softball, golf, tennis, fencing, lacrosse, a climbing wall and more. The inter-school event promoted key Olympic values such as friendship, excellence and diversity. Learning new skills and sports helps confidence and self esteem of children who may not participate in the more traditional team sports on offer in schools.”
Ridgewood High School was named the overall winning school of the competition, but Pedmore students did us proud, winning several team medals. T-shirts were presented to all students taking part and medals handed out to event winners by the Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley.
