The TSET Olympics – A Runaway Success

Sporting Spectacular of 2012

The inter-school sporting spectacular this summer, the Stourbridge Educational Trust (TSET) Olympics was a great success.  Pedmore coordinated the vents on behalf of the Trust , with two days of sporting activities and a presentation evening held at the Copthorne Hotel at Merry Hill.

On 19 June over 600 students  competed against each other from Pedmore, Redhill, Thorns and Ridgewood in a wide vary of sporting activities in the grounds of Himley Hall.  Activities ranged from mountain biking, tag rugby, handball, climbing wall, softball, tennis and more.  Staff and students from Stourbridge College and King Edward VI form assisted school staff by helping with activities.  Specialist coaches are also attending in several sports. VIP’s are attending including The Deputy Mayor, Head of London 2012 Arts Council and sponsors Higgs and Sons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On 21 June over 400 students again competed in more traditional track and field events at the Dell Stadium, Brierley Hill.

Scores were keep from all events and on 2 July The TSET Olympics 2012 presentation Evening saw over 400 guests and students from all schools enjoy an evening of performance and celebration of success and sporting achievement. VIP guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley and 3 local Olympic torch bearers! Our year 10’s won the overall year winners from both events.

This was a truly memorable inter-school celebration to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games
