Celebrating our Cultural Differences
PTC host a colourful Cultural Festival
Pupils and staff celebrated our understanding of cultural differences by hosting a colourful Cultural Festival here last week. Each tutor group choose a country of choice and researching their cultures, food, music, traditions and language. All the groups then presented their findings in a huge variety of ways ranging from dance and performance to presentations and food tasting stalls.
Some pupils were also treated to drumming workshops from professional musician and drumming expert, Mark Robertson. The festival was part of our school’s bid to win a competition with The Stourbridge Educational Trust (TSET), to see which of its member schools are best at celebrating their culture differences.
Mr Kemp, our Principal said, “The drumming sessions complemented the Brazilian and Jamaican topic groups and added a really exciting edge to the performances”.
