BTEC Art and Design visit Sealife and BMAG
Year 11 BTEC Art and Design Students get a Cultural Treat in Birmingham
Mrs Tromans, Subject Leader for Art and Design accompanied by Mr Purcell, took a group of Year 11 BTEC Art and Design Students to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG) and The National Sealife Centre.
At BMAG they carried out independent research, investigating the work of artists, designers. This included the current diamond jubilee celebration, exhibition by Leonardo da Vinci, the Staffordshire Hoard and the permanent Pre-Raphaelite collection.
At the Sealife Centre the group collected primary research for their Final Major Project, 'Call of the Wild' taking photographs and producing drawings in situ.
Mrs Tromans said "This was an exciting opportunity for students to explore and view work of others including that of da Vinci to support studies for their specialist elective work.
