Another Competition Success for Pedmore Students

Staying Cyber Safe Competition – Pedmore Students Reach the Finals!

This year’s Health Lifestyle Competition, open to all Dudley primary and secondary schools focussed on Staying Cyber-safe.  Students were asked to design a poster using a range of mediums from crayons and pens to online design tools that focussed on the importance of E-Safety.  The competition is funded by Dudley Healthy Schools Public Health Programme and is being offered in partnership with Safe and Sound (Dudley's Community safety Partnership), Dudley Grid for Learning and Dudley Schools Anti-Bullying Pledge Scheme. There are school and individual prizes for the winners.

Our students were shown videos from SIT Safer Internet Day which highlighted cyber bullying which gave them important information and inspiration for their posters, As usual, Pedmore students rose to the challenge with Mrs Topping and Mr Hanif given the difficult task of wading through many, many high quality entries to select over 50 of the best designs to submit.

We have just been informed that we have four of our students in the grand final!

Mr Brain Patterson, Chair of Dudley Association of Governing Bodies said, “All of Dudley schools secondary and primary were included in the competition so four being chosen (from Pedmore) out of the final 22 is brilliant”.

The four finalists are:-

Sana Ambreen

Lucy Lees

Syrah Nadeem

Sabeela Nassar

Students and their families are invited to the Presentation Evening on Thursday 12th June at Saltwells EDC where the winners will be announced.    Good luck Pedmore!
