The Skills Show November 2016 - Year 10 and 11
Year 10 and 11 explored a massive variety of occupations and further and higher education routes at this year's Skills Show at the NEC. The Skills Show is the one-stop-shop for careers inspiration, bringing jobs and skills to life in a highly interactive environment. As the UK’s largest skills and careers event, there’s something to suit all interests, and students can try out a huge range of workplace skills across large variety of industries.
Packed with career inspiration, students can discover what they enjoy and what they're good at, and find out how to take that next important step by talking to expert careers advisers. They can explore hundreds of apprenticeship, training and education options.
They had the opportunity to meet local and national employers and hear from professionals to get an insider’s view on the world of work. They watched the WorldSkills UK Competitions, to be inspired by the best of the best competing in over 50 skills in the National Finals.
In November, all year 10 and 11 students begun activities in tutor time that prepared them to get the most out of the event, such as doing the online Spartan Test, watching Spotlight talks, researching occupational areas and careers paths etc. and plotting their day on individual online planners.
Year 10 attended 17th November and Year 11 on 18th November. For more full details, visit https://worldskillsuk.org/the-skills-show
