Funky Festives December 2014
Mrs Hunter and the Year 9 Business Enterprise students managed to secure funding from the Peter Jones (of Dragons Den fame) Foundation last November for their Funky Festive business idea.
The team worked tirelessly at school and home to make festive wreaths from recycled fabric and materials donated by local employer, Boss Design.
Festive handmade contemporary cards were also made and sold by the team. Within 4 weeks, materials had been purchased and products made and sold!
Mrs Hunter, Head of Business Enterprise said, “We are absolutely delighted with the success of Funky Festive. This was our first “from scratch” make and sell project with our GCSE Business Enterprise students and they certainly didn’t disappoint. Students, staff and the general public loved our products and have given the team confidence and inspiration to go on and develop this business even more.
Special thanks to our friends Asda at Merry Hill for allowing us to set up a stall inside their store, their support for this project was much appreciated”.
