Pedmore currently having a lockdown drill

As part of our standard fire drill, evacuation, lockdown and safety procedures we are currently staging a mock lockdown of the college site. This is a test and ensures that staff and students are familiar with the procedure and confident in the process. We will update this webpage as soon as the test procedure is complete.

PTC Install Solar Panels on the Roof – the 100th School for Power Your Future!

We think about our environment and saving energy - Power Your Future staff work with our students

PTC is serious about reducing it’s carbon footprint.  With our newly formed Eco Council and the installation of Solar PV panels on our roof, we are ensuring we will make a difference.  The system is 50kW (the biggest system available) and was installed on our school roof during December.   As the 100th school to install panels with the Power Your Future initiative, Chief Executive Maria Gazia Wheatley, Solar Business Manager Jo Dufeu, Chief Engineer Rafael Osuna Gomez and Communications Manager David Vander came into school to work with staff and students to raise our understanding about solar power and sustainable energy sources.

Mr Lloyd said, “We are really excited about this installation. This will allow us to save on our schools energy costs in the future, redirecting the saving to buy additional resources for students. It also means we are educating our students and staff about energy use and management, the use of sustainable energy sources as an alternative to fossil fuels together with the need to reduce carbon emissions.  We all need to understand more about long-term environmental challenges and how we can use solar power to help make a difference to all our futures.”
