PTC students compete in the Black Country Enterprise Challenge
Yr 10 Graphic Design students get set for a business challenge
A team of 8 Yr 10 Graphic Design students attended an exciting event in Walsall on 30 January aimed to give young people the experience of “business” ethics in a competitive environment and undertake the challenge of designing/proposing a retail ‘pop up shop’. Business advisors on the day helped steer them towards a goal of how they will market their business, what they will sell, who will be their customers etc.
The students competed against schools from Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and presented their retail model ideas to the audience and judges in a "Dragons Den" style.
Design Technology Subject Leader, Mrs Hunter who organised our participation in the event said, "Our team really impressed the event organisers and particularly the Dudley STEMNET Coordinator who has offered us a shop in a local high street, rent free to deliver our pop-up shop idea! The team are to launch a clothing range "Lip Varvi" with every garment and accessory being unique due to tie-dyeing". Watch this space for when and where the shop will open!
