Celebrating Black Country Day in Poetic Style with Special Guests

Head of the Council, Black Country Mon and a local author joins us on Black Country Day

We are celebrating Black Country Day today with a Black Country Poetry theme! Special guests are in school to work and inspire pupils as they write poetry throughout the day all about the Black Country and it’s heritage.  Local author and writer for the Black Country Bugle Ian Henery, Head of Dudley Council Councillor Peter Lowe and The Big Centre TV have joined students to talk about the importance of the Black Country Festival, even Black Country Mon has dropped in!

The student’s poetry will be used towards an anthology of Black Country poetry to be produced later this year.  Mr Lloyd, our Headteacher said, “Our school has really embraced Black Country Day and our guests have helped to inspire some fabulous pieces of work today.  We are delighted that we have been asked to contribute to the anthology”.
