PTC Year 9’s make it to the Royal Institution Computer Science Master Classes

3 Year 9's awarded places at these pretigious events at the University of Birmingham

Mr Hanif, Computer Science teacher is delighted to announce that 3 students who were nominated to attend the Royal Institution Computer Science Master Classes at University of Birmingham have all been offered places at these prestigious and over-subscribed events.  The successful students are:-

 Lauren Heathcock

 Sabeela Nasar

 Matthew Newton

The students were nominated as it was felt they will benefit from attending these sessions together with their interest and enthusiasm for computer science and their abilities.

The classes usually take the form of talks interspersed with interactive workshop sessions.

The topics covered in the masterclasses include:

  • Security
  • Human Computer Interaction
  • Imaging
  • Natural language processing
  • Natural computation
  • Robotics
  • Functional Programming
  • Social Networks

The masterclasses will run from 10am – 12.30am for 8 consecutive Saturdays in the spring term (including half term) beginning on the 31st January.
