Pedmore currently having a lockdown drill

As part of our standard fire drill, evacuation, lockdown and safety procedures we are currently staging a mock lockdown of the college site. This is a test and ensures that staff and students are familiar with the procedure and confident in the process. We will update this webpage as soon as the test procedure is complete.

Pedmore co-ordinates another great Sporting Success

The TSET Olympics at Himley Hall on Wednesday 13th June

Pedmore Technology College co-ordinates an annual massive inter-school sporting event, the “TSET Olympics” on behalf of the TSET schools;Thorns,Ridgewood, Redhill and ourselves. Students from all four schools thoroughly enjoy the day trying out new sports in friendly, competitive sessions with skilled coaches. Sports include lacrosse, mountain biking, climbing, tag rugby, tennis, volleyball, fencing, rounders, soft ball and golf, hosted in Himley’s extensive grounds.

More than 600 students in Years 7, 8 and 9 competed in this massive inter-school event on Wednesday 11th June which was attended by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Margaret Aston.  The Mayor awarded medals to the event winning teams.

New friendships and skills are gained along with helping the confidence and self-esteem of children who may not participate in the more traditional sports of offer in our schools.

Although some of the sports featured appear to be a solo activity, the students compete school on school and as a result are exposed to competing as a team even in a “solitary” sport, similar to that of an Olympic team.  We are passionate about the continuation and development of this sporting event and others like it as a legacy of London 2012 Olympic Games.
